Free racing tips for Randwick with form and odds, Saturday

Randwick racing tips

ALL the focus this Saturday is with the Caulfield Cup meeting in Melbourne, but Randwick is back with another quality card following the success of The Everest.

Randwick was rocking last Saturday with a crowd of over 30,000 and even though there won’t be many people on track this week, punters still get a quality betting card.

The Brian Crowley Stakes features a slick field of three-year-olds which are a bit below the best in Australia, but it should be one of the must-watch races of the day.

Race 1 – Kirkham Plate (1000m)

There has been a big betting move for Alshahhad from the Lindsay Park stables. The two-year-old was an impressive trial winner at Wodonga and the stable is confident that it will run a good race. The betting move has tapered off a touch and Fiesta looks tough to beat, but respect the move.

Fiesta is a talented filly for Chris Waller which charged home to run third in the Gimcrack. The Gimcrack form doesn’t always stack up well in the spring, but it showed a significant turn-of-foot to get close to them and the smaller field could help its chances. Current $2.90 favourite.

Race 1 tip: Alshahhad to place ($2.20) at CrownBet.com.au

Race 2 – R75 Handicap (1600m)

Kaonic finished off strongly on debut behind Sparky Lad before winning at Canterbury by a length. The Waller-trained three-year-old is well-bred by Savabeel and that bodes well for the rise in distance. This is an even field, but it looks like one of the better winning hopes.

Sambro went close in the Dulcify last start and that form should stack up well. The son of Fastnet Rock has been well-backed throughout the season, but it has been finding one or two horses better than it. Rising in weight won’t help, but it gets a 3kg claimer in the saddle which helps.

Race 2 tip: Kaonic to win ($2.40) at Neds.com.au

Race 3 – Highway Handicap (1100m)

She Knows went close behind race-rival Larlabrook last start and it has the capability to reverse that result. The Danny Williams-trained filly was a stylish winner two back at Goulburn where it won by two lengths. It has drawn awkwardly in barrier 10, but the light weight brings it right into contention.

Rekindled Force has been the best-backed runner in the field at $2.80. The Paul Messara-trained runner ran a quick time when winning on debut and despite the rise in grade here, it’s bred to be much better than these. The son of Redoute’s Choice has plenty more wins in store and drawing close to the fence with only 51.5kg makes it awfully tough to beat.

Race 3 tip: Rekindled Force to win ($2.80) at Unibet.com.au

Race 4 – Tattersalls Club Cup (2400m)

Alward is going to be tough to beat given its form this campaign. The Waller-trained stayer has defeated its stablemate Up ‘n’ Rolling twice already this season and dropping to 53kg is a great result for connections. The big weight for Destiny’s Kiss has allowed an in-form stayer to get in with no weight and the $1.90 speaks volumes.

Admiral Jello is a consistent type which ran only a nose behind Auvray last start and that form has held up well. Kris Lees lines up the five-year-old which has attracted plenty of attention in the market at $3.10 and it should give Alward a run for its money.

Race 4 tip: Alward to win ($1.90) at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 5 – R85 Handicap (1400m)

Peacock is nearing a win and its last start placing was a good indication. The four-year-old is a past winner at Randwick and this isn’t the hardest field it has ever faced. There could be a lack of speed so don’t be surprised to see Joshua Parr push forward from the tricky draw.

Pumpkin Pie had no luck in the Highway Anniversary last start and it should be well-prepared for redemption here. The Danny Williams-trained mare faces a much harder field than last week, but it does possess the ability to win with a light weight so consider at each way odds.

Race 6 – Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m)

Malahat has won two from eight and it scored a quality win over Caulfield Guineas placegetter Kementari in May. The James Cummings-trained colt only battled behind stablemate Viridine last start, but that was a hot field and it should be better suited to this grade.

Single Bullet has been knocking on the door with two recent placings. The Gary Portelli-trained sprinter was held up behind Viridine in the Heritage Stakes before running second in the Roman Consul. It has placed in three of its four starts on this track and punters will be backing it in again.

Race 6 tip: Single Bullet to win ($4.20) at Neds.com.au

Race 7 – Nivison Stakes (1200m)

White Moss has become a consistent type for punters and it could win again. The Jason Coyle-trained four-year-old scored well last start at Canterbury and it has now won four of its seven career starts. It has never taken on this level of opposition before, but there are some encouraging signs going forward.

Dixie Blossoms was set for the Angst Stakes last start, but it could go back-to-back. The Ron Quinton-trained mare has always been around the mark in these top races and it has yet to finish out of the top three in six starts at Randwick. That’s a good sign and $6 for punters is a great price despite the drop in distance.

Race 7 tip: White Moss to place ($2.30) at CrownBet.com.au

Race 8 – R85 Handicap (1600m)

Mapmaker has yet to put a foot wrong this campaign and it’s an even chance at $6. The Tim Martin-trained gelding ran on well behind Interlocuter at Randwick last start and that form should hold up well at this level. It’s got a chance and is paying handy odds.

Zenalicious ran on well for third behind Dixie Blossoms last start and that could be the best form guide. The Les Bridge-trained runner doesn’t win very often, which can frustrate punters, but it’s nearing another win and it could come here.

Race 8 tip: Zenalicious to win ($4.60) at Unibet.com.au

Race 9 – R88 Handicap (1200m)

New Universe is rearing to go for Chris Waller having not run since June. The former New Zealand runner won consecutive races at Rosehill before failing to impress last start, but it’s unbeaten in two fresh up starts and it looks ready to go.

Zumbelina is the stablemate to New Universe and it has been well-backed at $4.60. The daughter of Stratum battled on well behind Sir Plush last start, but more was expected from punters. It will need some luck from out wide, but it could pay to follow any market moves.

Race 9 tip: New Universe to win ($2.80) at Sportsbet.com.au
