Free racing tips and form for Randwick, Saturday September 16

Randwick racing tips

WINX is back in action this Saturday as it looks to add another Colgate Optic White Stakes to its winning list.

The champion mare is the highlight attraction on a quality betting card at Randwick where some of Australia’s best thoroughbreds are in action, and is becoming the norm these days, there is no shortage of Winx free bets promos on offer.

The Tea Rose Stakes and the Kingston Town Stakes are sure to add some excitement and there has already been some big bets placed on the more fancied runners on the card.

Punters can get a bonus bet of up to $50 at CrownBet if your runner finishes second or third in the first five races on the card. That includes popular betting races such as the Highway Handicap and the Heritage Stakes.

Race 1 – Tab Highway Handicap (1000m)

She Knows was a quality winner at Goulburn before being spelled. The Danny Williams-trained filly scored by two lengths in a dominant fashion and it looks ready to take on a tough field here. It has been well-backed at $4.40 which is a good sign.

Oakfield Time has won two from six starts with three placings and it has Highway Handicap experience. The Terry Evans-trained five-year-old recorded a 5.5-length win to break maiden grades last season and its placing in the Highway Handicap in November was solid enough. Chance with Hugh Bowman in the saddle.

Race 1 tip: She Knows to win ($4.40) at Bet365.com

Race 2 – Shoot Out Mile Handicap (1600m)

Royal Navy has been a money spinner this preparation, but it should get every chance at the weights. The under-performing four-year-old for Team Snowden finished a close second at Warwick Farm last start, but that came in midweek grade. This is much harder, however the 51.5kg on its back should give it a winning chance. It’s carrying 10kg less than the current favourite.

Imposing Lass will need to carry 61.5kg in this, but it’s the clear class horse. The five-year-old for Bjorn Baker won the Belle of the Turf at Gosford before running third in the Toy Show two starts back. It got close in the Mona Lisa Stakes last start and that form should be tough to beat. It ran well when carrying 60kg at Flemington so this isn’t new territory for it.

Race 2 tip: Royal Navy to win ($4.40) at CrownBet.com.au

Race 3 – Schweppes Heritage Stakes (1100m)

Marsupial is one of three quality runners for Godolphin and it looks to have a serious winning chance. The James Cummings-trained colt finished second behind Tango Rain at Rosehill last start and that form looks good for this. It was able to beat Frolic by over two lengths on debut and its form in the big races last season were solid. Nice chance at $3.50.

Stablemate Malahat scored a midweek win at Canterbury last start, but it looked to have plenty in hand. The son of Exceed And Excel easily handled Kementari four starts back and that form is considered very good now. The track was too heavy in the Sires’ Produce, but this looks much better and it will likely sit off the pace from the wide draw and come late.

Race 3 tip: Malahat to win ($3) at Ladbrokes.com.au

Race 4 – Bill Ritchie Handicap (1400m)

Tom Melbourne hasn’t been the easiest horse to follow for the last year, but the potential is there and it’s worth another chance. Formerly racing in Melbourne, Tom Melbourne is now being called “Tom Sydney” and it hasn’t had much luck at its last two starts. The barrier draw and weight make it tough to beat here and its experience should come into play.

Comin’ Through is the current favourite following a good fresh up win and it gets in well on the weights. The Randwick Guineas placegetter was too quick for them at Randwick last start, but this will likely be a more tactical affair. $2.50 is a touch short of value, but it should go close.

Race 4 tip: Tom Melbourne to win ($2.80) at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 5 – McGrath Estate Agents Tea Rose Stakes (1400m)

Tulip only narrowly missed out last start at Moonee Valley and it should take good improvement out of that. The Lindsay Park-trained three-year-old scored a quality win in the Magic Night Stakes before running third in the Golden Slipper. It was only one of a few horses that handled the wet track and that’s a positive for this run. It should go close and punters agree at $3.50.

Champagne Cuddles has had the benefit of three runs this campaign and it worked home well last start. The Baker-trained three-year-old has shown a lot of promise from its four starts to date and running second behind Formality is a good form line this spring. The wide barrier will likely force it back from the jump, but it should finish off well again.

Race 5 tip: Champagne Cuddles to win ($3.30) at Topbetta.com.au

Race 6 – Colgate Optic White Stakes (1600m)

Red Excitement almost stole the Chelmsford Stakes away from Winx last start and that performance should be taken into consideration here. The Gerald Ryan-trained eight-year-old is capable of putting together back-to-back big efforts and it might adopt similar tactics here. $2 for the place isn’t the worst bet.

Foxplay is another runner to narrowly taste defeat at the hands of Winx this season, but it makes its own luck out front and it could run top three. The Chris Waller-trained four-year-old ran second in the Warwick Stakes behind Winx and a similar takes it close here at $1.50 to place.

Race 6 tip: Foxplay to place ($1.50) at CrownBet.com.au

Race 7 – Bowermans Office Furniture The Shorts (1100m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1138944_07]

Redzel has gone from a consistent runner into a winning one its last three starts. The Snowden-trained five-year-old is a three-time winner on this track and its most recent win over Spieth held some merit. It could have won five straight with a little luck and it’s certainly in the form of its life. Punters have come for it at $2.30, but that could be a touch too short.

Chautauqua is paying $3.80 which will excite many punters. The champion sprinter sprouted wings when winning last start and it should return in fine fettle here. The wide draw, weight and conditions won’t worry the seasoned professional and it will likely be seen getting back and storming home as usual. Great odds on offer.

Race 7 tip: Chautauqua to win ($3.80) at Topbetta.com.au

Race 8 – Kingston Town Stakes (2000m)

Antonio Giuseppe looks primed to go after two starts this campaign where it ran behind Winx on both occasions. The Waller-trained stayer made good ground last start which bodes well for this and carrying only 55kg will be a big help. It has the class edge over many of these and the $3.20 looks spot on from bookmakers.

Life Less Ordinary is the stablemate to Antonio Giuseppe and it could pay to follow any strong betting moves. The imported six-year-old ran second behind Comin’ Through two starts back where it produced a strong finish and it battled away behind Winx last start. Dropping significantly in weight helps and there’s no Winx in this.

Race 8 tip: Antonio Giuseppe to win ($3.20) at WilliamHill.com.au

Race 9 – Tabcorp Handicap (1200m)

Theanswerismyfriend has finished second in three consecutive starts, but a win isn’t far away. The Robert Smerdon stable is in good form this season and this runner placed at its only start around Randwick. That came in the Carbine Stakes behind Acatour and it should find this more to its liking. Chance at $3.60.

Missile Coda is a natural speedster which looks a good chance if it makes the field. The four-year-old has won three from four starts and it couldn’t have looked more impressive when winning by 4.3 lengths last start. It has good natural pace which is ideal over this distance and the light weight helps.

Race 9 tip: Theanswerismyfriend to win ($3.60) at Bet365.com
