Free quaddie tips for Wednesday racing at Sandown

Sandown racesTAKING a quaddie is one of the most popular betting types on Australian horse racing and the big payouts have attracted punters from all over the world.

Sportsbet.com.au offer quaddies on most meetings and this Wednesday our focus will be at Sandown with good fields carded throughout races 5-8.

The Sandown quaddie starts at 3:30pm with the Schweppes R70 where the race should be dominated by a group of Saturday-graded favourites.

All four legs look good to our eye and we think, barring a massive upset, that we can get punters some quaddie cash this Wednesday.

Sandown Race 5 quaddie tip – Schweppes R70 Handicap (1600m)

There are four well-fancied chances to take out the opening race of the Sandown quaddie. The current favourite is the Robert Smerdon-trained Clemency which flew home to score at Pakenham last time out. The daughter of Redoute’s Choice hasn’t finished out of the money in five career starts and punters have backed it into $3.10.

Jennio ($4.00) ran well against a similar field last start where it finished third and Darren Weir usually has his horses ready to go. It has won and placed on this track and along with Saone Et Loire ($5.00) it looks a major quaddie threat.

Testability is the biggest danger to the favourite and is an obvious quaddie inclusion. The John Sadler-trained mare is coming off a 2.25-length win against a similar field and it was good enough to take on city-level thoroughbreds earlier on in its career. If it gets a nice run in front it will be tough to beat.

Sandown Race 6 quaddie tip – Are You In R84 Handicap (1400m)

Better Land returned to its best form last start when it defeated hot-favourite Satya at Ballarat. The Peter Moody-trained horse was running in the big two-year-old events early in its career, but it has since gone off the boil. The win last start was a sign of hope for the four-year-old which gets a lovely weight of 54kg. That makes it a must-have quaddie inclusion at $5.00.

Chris Waller lines up Bascule which has put together back-to-back victories in February. The Thorn Park gelding took its record to five from 19 and four wins have come at this distance. Both wins came on a slow track which is concerning as conditions are supposed to be dry, but it has class at its best and should run well at $4.00.

Here To There and Ungrateful Ellen are dangers, but we’re going to stick with Better Land and Bascule to save us some money.

Sandown Race 7 quaddie tip – Le Pine Funerals R70 Handicap (2400m)

Ginali dropped from rating 90 to rating 70 last start and managed only sixth, but it now comes back to midweek level and to should take advantage of that. The Clinton McDonald-trained mare was unlucky in behind Miss Softhands and All Cerise at Flemington and that form is a good guide for this. Punters agree and have backed it into $5.00.

Warrior Of Fire could bring some value to the quaddie at $8. The four-year-old is dropping back from rating 90 grade where it finished third at Morphettville. It was a winner by a nose at Geelong three starts back with apprentice Brandon Stockdale riding and the pair will do battle again. Stockdale takes 3kg off its back and it should give each way punters a good sight.

We’re adding Timikar and Paradanze to our quaddie selections. Both are coming off average runs in much higher class and quick improvement is expected.

Sandown Race 8 quaddie tip – Mitavite Challenge R70 (1400m)

The well-named Fidel Astro won its first two starts and as finished close up at its next two. The Tony McEvoy-trained gelding took on a nice field at Pakenham last start and finished under a length from the winner as the $2.50 favourite. It has shot out to $6.00 for the win here and we think that’s great money.

Eljetem is coming off an easy 2.25-length win at Sandown Hillside and it deserves to be the favourite. The four-year-old is paying $4.40 and has every chance to make it two consecutive wins. Rising up to this distance will hold no fears and it’s a logical quaddie inclusion.

The last leg is typically the toughest to hit so we’re going to add Hokkaido ($8.00), Rose Dancer ($10) and Recalculate ($5.00) for some added insurance.
