Free form guide & Thursday quaddie tips for Moe Cup Day

Moe Thursday Quaddie

ALL eyes are on Moe this Thursday afternoon as the race club holds its annual Moe Cup meet.

There are some huge names competing for the $130,000 in prize money, and the public holiday is sure to help generate mass amounts of patrons on course.

We are only worried about the quaddie, however, and after a sensational weekend of tipping by the HorseBetting.com.au team, we are confident of generating a big dividend for our loyal readers.

All odds this week were provided by Australia’s newest online bookmaker, Neds.com.au, which is offering a matched first deposit bonus to new customers up to the value of $500 when they use the code GETON500.

Race six on the card is a benchmark 78 contest over the 1600m journey, which kicks off the quaddie at 3.25 pm.

Race 6 – BM78 (1600m)

Laughing Heir is the best horse in this field and will be extremely hard to hold out. The horse has missed a place just once in its career, when it was running at the less than optimal 1000m trip. From a good gate at the mile we think it will be the horse to beat.

Rib Eye comes into Thursday third up, where it has previously placed in the past. Returning to a distance where it has won once from two attempts is a huge tick and the 4kg weight relief on its last run will benefit greatly.

Stone Warrior might be at $11 at Crownbet in the fixed odds betting but in reality the horse has a much stronger chance than that. Coming in third up where it has previously placed, at a distance where it has placed twice in three attempts. Can cause an upset here against the much more fancied rivals.

Race 7 – Moe Cup (2050m)

Count Da Vinci is a genuine city-grade horse that has performed admirably at Caulfield and Flemington in its last two runs, finishing fourth and third respectively behind very smart horses Cool Chap and Theanswermyfriend. On name value alone it is the clear stand out here and we think it will take out the race.

It has been boom-or-bust in recent times for Pacodali, which has won four of its last six races, but on the two occasions the horse failed it finished outside the first four. Jumping from barrier 11 is a huge concern given the speed around it, but there is a huge class factor here that could shine through if the $2.90 chance at Ladbrokes gets a good trail into the race.

Articus comes out of a strong race at Morphettville where it only went down by a length and a half to classy operator Brown Ben. The five-year-old thrives at this distance – where it has won four times from nine attempts. The inside barrier could be an issue but if it jumps cleanly it has more than enough talent to take this out.

Race 8 – BM64 (1600m)

Time For Dancing is in terrific form and is the clear-cut favourite coming into this one. Having won three races and placed another time from five attempts attests to the fact its in stellar touch right now and there does not look like too many competitors here that will trouble the gelding.

Hazard Ahead looks like the other winning chance here. Fresh off a hard-fought win at Bairnsdale on October 8, the five-year-old stays at a distance that it has won twice at, and a grade it has excelled at in the past. Looms as the biggest danger to our top elect.

We’re also throwing in San Vincenzo despite that horror showing at Benalla. Finishing miles off the winner on its first-up attempt, we are expecting significant improvement following that resumption.

Race 9 – BM78 (1200m)

Bob Of The Head is a super-speedy beginner that has a lot going for it on Thursday. Having won twice in four attempts second up too, the $10 hope at William Hill can surprise at odds.

Godolphin runner Demolition comes into this race as a primary candidate and it is easy to see why. Winning twice from five attempts at the sprint trip and missing the placings across all races just twice in seven races showcases the immense talent this horse has.

Barthelona has missed a placing just once in four races this preparation and the one miss was at the 1000m trip rather than the 1200m. The horse has gone around at massive odds every race over the last two months and continues to impress, so it is no surprise to see it at the $4.20 quote via Crownbet.
