Form and free tips for Newcastle, Saturday December 23

NEWCASTLE has attracted plenty of nice thoroughbreds this Saturday to accompany the Warwick Farm meeting in the city.
It’s one of the most popular betting tracks in the Sydney area and many of the big-name trainers take their second-string runners there with good results.
You can bet at Newcastle with Neds.com.au, which is giving away up to $500 in bonus bets.

Aurora Rose looks the best bet here and punters tend to agree.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained four-year-old is coming off a win at Goulburn and a placing on this track. That experience at Newcastle is going to help and she looks a good bet at a short price in the opener.
Race 1 tip: Aurora Rose to win at $1.80
Race 2 – Maiden Handicap (1600m)

Korma put the writing on the wall when finishing second at Kembla Grange last start and he looks the one to beat.
The James Cummings-trained son of Exceed and Excel has placed in two from six, but this isn’t a strong maiden field and its race experience should take him close.
Race 2 tip: Korma to win ($2.45) at CrownBet.com.au
Race 3 – C2 Handicap (1600m)

California Turbo scored its maiden win on this track by 1.8 lengths and the money has been put on again.
The Snowden-trained gelding is bred to be better than most of these and the inside draw is only going to help its chances to remain unbeaten.
Race 3 tip: California Turbo to win at Sporstbet.com.au
Race 4 – Maiden Handicap (900m)

Nobody’s Puppet has been one of the best backed runners of the day at Newcastle and it’s not hard to see why.
The filly has looked impressive winning two trials leading into this and although trial form doesn’t beat race day form, it looks to have good potential.
Race 4 tip: Nobody’s Puppet to win ($2.25) at Sportsbet.com.au
Race 5 – C2 Handicap (900m)

Punters have been backing All Carisma this campaign for no success, but it has been taking on nice fields.
It has to face another strong field here, but he runs well third up and the 900m should suit its running style.
Race 5 tip: All Carisma to win at Neds.com.au
Race 6 – Maiden Plate (1200m)

Vineyard is on debut for James Cummings and it has attracted more money than its stablemate Thrilled.
The three-year-old gelding was a trial winner at Randwick two back before running third at the trials again this month. It ran a quick enough time to be considered on debut here.
Race 6 tip: Vineyard to win ($3.50) at Neds.com.au
Race 7 – BM60 Handicap (1200m)

Grand Theft Auto was a good winner fresh up and it might kick on with it now.
The Edward O’Rourke-trained three-year-old took six starts to get a win on the board, but it came in style at Nowra and it has firmed in from $4.80 to $3.90 which is a solid betting move.
Race 7 tip: Grand Theft Auto to win at Neds.com.au
