Enbihaar adds to Lindsay Park Diamond list

Enbihaar added her name to Lindsay Park’s Blue Diamond team in winning a lead-up race at Caulfield.

Enbihaar has added to the arsenal of Blue Diamond Stakes runners for the Lindsay Park stable with victory in the fillies Prelude at Caulfield.

Last year Lindsay Park saddled six runners in Melbourne’s premier two-year-old race, winning with Catchy, and the stable is hoping for a similar number for the Group One race for two-year-olds at Caulfield on February 24.

Following Saturday’s win in the Blue Diamond Prelude, Enbihaar will join stablemates Long Leaf, Ennis Hill and Qualifa with the stable also hoping to gain a start with Nasaayim and possibly Seberate.

Ridden by Stephen Baster, Enbihaar ($9.50) scored a half-length win from the $4 favourite Oohood with Seabrook ($15) promoted to third following a protest over Lake District Girl ($17).

Lindsay Park co-trainer Ben Hayes said he was loathe to put the stable runners in a pecking order.

“Politically I would prefer not to answer that,” he said.

“I would probably go Long Leaf still as I think the natural improvement in him has been excellent but we’ve got lots of nice fillies behind him that could run very well in the race as well.”

Enbihaar made a winning debut in Adelaide last month and according to Hayes has always been in the stable’s contingent for the Blue Diamond.

“That trip to Adelaide was perfect for her and she’s two from two now going into the Diamond,” he said.

Baster also rode Ennis Hill to victory in the Chairman’s Stakes at Caulfield last week, but doubts he’ll be given the chance to pick his Blue Diamond mount.

“I’ll ride whichever one I’m told to,” he said.
