Race 1 – Maiden Plate (1100m)

Major Wager is one of only a handful of horses in this field with racing experience and one of two that have placed previously. This stands the filly above the rest and it is the horse to beat.

Race 1 tip: Major Wager to win at Sportsbet

Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1200m)

Toorak Warrior has shown promise across its six career starts, including two second placings this preparation. It bodes well for a strong showing in a field where a lot of runners have failed to produce anything close to that form.

Race 2 tip: Toorak Warrior to win at Neds

Race 3 – Maiden Plate (2100m)

It’s only a matter of time before Capatas breaks the maiden grade and Monday looms as D Day. The horse has finished second and within a nose of the winner on back-to-back occasions leading into this race.

Race 3 tip: Capatas to win at Sportsbet

Race 4 – Maiden Plate (1400m)

The favourable draw will help the consistent King’s Hand break through here. From five career starts the horse has only missed the first four twice, and its last-start third was a career-best showing. Look for further improvement.

Race 4 tip: King’s Hand to win at Sportsbet

Race 5 – Benchmark 58 (1400m)

Drysdale Spirit is a last-start winner at this grading, and from the perfect draw there’s no reason to think it cannot repeat the dose. While it jumps 2kg in weight, the experience at the BM58 level suggests it can overcome.

Race 5 tip: Drysdale Spirit to win at William Hill

Race 6 – Benchmark 58 (1600m)

Melba’s Maestro has been racing in great form and is the clear horse to beat. Before only narrowly missing out at this track and grading last time out the horse had recorded back-to-back wins and we’re backing the horse to get the job done in this event.

Race 6 tip: Melba’s Maestro to win at Sportsbet

Race 7 – Benchmark 58 (1100m)

Mary’s Pride has improved across all three of its runs this preparation and looks ready to peak. The only thing that is going to hold the horse back here is a poor gate, but it’s good enough to overcome.

Race 7 tip: Mary’s Pride to win at Neds

Race 8 – Benchmark 64 (1200m)

Following its strong maiden victory, Bold Missile looks set for bigger and better things. The horse won well at Kyneton on March 7, and gelding resumes following just under two months break. We’re backing the three-year-old in for a strong showing.

Race 8 tip: Bold Missile to win at Ladbrokes
