First Race 12:33pm AEST

Metropolitan racing returns to Doomben on Wednesday afternoon, and HorseBetting.com.au has you covered with free betting tips and quaddie numbers for the eight-part card. The track is rated a Soft 5 and the rail is out 7m for the entire course, which could see those runners closer to the front advantaged. The meeting is set to kick off at 12:33pm local time.

Best Bet: Orbisyn

David Vandyke and Ryan Maloney combine in the fifth with unbeaten galloper Orbisyn. The son of Rich Enuff has been simply brilliant in all three of his career victories, winning by a cumulative 13 lengths. The three-year-old gelding has been pedantically placed by Vandkye, and this looks to be another soft kill. Drawn well in barrier five, Orbisyn should show the customary speed to find the front as he cruises away with another win.

Best BetRace 4 – Orbisyn (#3) $1.12 with Sportsbet

Next Best: Weona Smartone

Given that our two best bets have opened at Winx-like odds, we may have to take a multi. Orbisyn’s stablemate Weona Smartone has been equally impressive to date, winning four of his five career starts. The four-year-old son of Shamexpress now looks to make it five-straight wins after a dominant 5.5-length victory on the Gold Coast last start. Drawn well in barrier two under Ryan Maloney, he can land on the speed, dictate terms and kick clear in the straight to put up another win alongside his name.

Next BestRace 7 – Weona Smartone (#8) $1.24 with Sportsbet

Best Value: Batangas Entry

Kelly Schweida’s Batangas Entry has always shown ability, which has been reflected by the top weight in this 3YO Benchmark 70. The son of Vancouver has a nice record at Doomben, with two wins and two second-placings from seven starts here, and after a luckless first-up run in tougher company, he should relish the drop in grade. James Orman has the ride on this gelding, and from barrier four, he should be able to settle in the first half of the field with cover and come into the race at the right time. This horse always improves second-up, and the rise in trip to 1350m should be to his liking.

Best ValueRace 6 – Batangas Entry (#1) $10 with Sportsbet
