Doomben race betting preview
Doomben will play host to eight races on the Easter Monday Public Holiday with a nice card to be run. The track is rated a Soft 5 and the rail is out eight metres for the entirety of the course. Best Bet – #11 Orbisyn
David Vandyke and Ryan Maloney combine in the sixth with debut winner Orbisyn. The son of Rich Enuff was heavily backed on debut at this track and he duly saluted for punters, racing away to win by two lengths. That run came on a Soft 7, so if the track remains a Soft 5 on Monday we know he will handle the sting out. He has drawn wide here (13), but Maloney can take him forward to settle in the first pair or two and be winning again.

Next Best – #7 Howdy Angel
Another power couple in the training & riding ranks in Queensland is Tony Gollan and Michael Rodd, and they combine in the third with nice last start winner Howdy Angel. The three-year-old So You Think filly has had just the three starts for two wins and a third, so she clearly has ability. Coming off a two length win over 1600m at the Sunshine Coast on February 28, she should appreciate the freshen up and drop in trip to 1350m on Monday. Rodd will look for cover from barrier nine and can be winning again.

Best Value – #3 I Am A Beauty
This aptly named gelding is a cracking type when you see him in the flesh and on TV, so much so that Mounting Yard Expert, Lizzie Jelfs, made him her pick of the yard last start at $61. His quote halved after Jelfs tipped him, and he didn’t let punters down, flashing late to run third at Eagle Farm. The Maryann Brosnan-trained three-year-old should appreciate the drop in class back to maiden grade and will be carrying just half a kilo more (54.5kg) after Jaden Lloyd’s 3kg claim. Drawn the inside, he will likely be in the back half of the field and can be chiming in late.
