Divine Prophet wins G1 Caulfield Guineas

Divine Prophet has capitalised on a late inside run to win the Group One Caulfield Guineas.

In a desperate finish, Divine Prophet ($7) drove through close to the rail to hold off the fast-finishing Seaburge in the $1 million race at Caulfield on Saturday.

Hey Doc ($11) took the minor placing, just ahead of the favourite Impending.

“It was a matter of finding a passage through in the straight and he got the rest done,” jockey Dwayne Dunn said.

Divine Prophet is a $26 chance for the Cox Plate, but co-trainer Wayne Hawkes said the colt was far from a certain runner in the weight-for-age championship at Moonee Valley.
