Damien Oliver has been suspended following his ride on Australian Cup Day at Flemington

Damien Oliver will miss a feature Saturday meeting after being suspended for careless riding in the Australian Cup.

Oliver rode Exospheric to a third placing in Saturday’s Australian Cup at Flemington but was suspended after pleading guilty to careless riding for shifting in at the 150m mark of the Group One race, causing Tally to be checked.

Oliver’s 12-meeting ban starts after Monday’s Moonee Valley meeting and he will miss next Saturday.

Next Saturday is Golden Slipper day in Sydney while next Saturday’s Melbourne meeting features the Group Two Blamey Stakes.
