Alligator Blood
Alligator Blood has returned an irregular swab after winning the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.

The Monday blues are upon us after another action-packed Group 1 weekend in racing where we saw William Pike team up with Grant and Alana Williams to pick up their third successive Railway Stakes. A gritty on-pace performance saw Archedemus claim another Group 1 for Team Hawkes, and it was a punters nightmare at Ballarat. Another week is upon us, and the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes the featured event of the weekend upcoming at Ascot.

Bossy heads to QLD

After such a successful Spring Carnival in Victoria, the superstar that is Glen Boss is packing his bags and heading off on a six week adventure to QLD in an attempt to claim his first Magic Millions 2YO Classic. Who’s to say he can’t do it? He’s had a spring that has included a Cox Plate victory aboard Sir Dragonet and took out the VRC Sprint Classic with Bivouac a fortnight later. He’s booked to ride the Maher & Eustace trained Fake Love in the 2YO featured event, as the stable looks to go for successive victories in the race after Away Game took out the race last year.

Michael Rodd to head back to QLD.

Ten months ago Michael Rodd had a decision to make when the Singapore races closed down due to Covid 19. He opted to head to Victoria to build up a book of rides for the Spring Carnival and has spent nearly 12 months away from his family who based themselves in Queensland. Superstar QLD trainer Tony Gollan has always been a fan of Rodd’s and if the current bunch of QLD based jockeys aren’t careful, the former QLD apprentice premier will catch them napping at any given time.

Alligator Blood looking for a new home

David Vandyke and the reigning QLD Horse of The Year Alligator Blood have parted ways after such a successful partnership. However, Vandyke is convinced that the setback the former Australian Guineas will cause him to be a shadow of his former self. The gelding will head in for an operation on his back in December, and connections hope he will be back in time to race in either of the Sydney or Melbourne spring carnivals. The superstar is basically a free agent at the moment, and any trainer willing to take the risk will know they have an out and out superstar if he gets back to his best.
