Customers backing in Neds after interrupted online opening

Neds Boost

TEETHING problems are nothing new in the betting world, and Australia’s newest online bookmaker Neds was no exemption on Saturday.

Experiencing site delays due to a higher-than-expected influx of traffic on their opening weekend of trading, the online bookmaker channeled its resources into appeasing the disappointed customers.

One Neds customer contacted HorseBetting.com.au, stating that while he was initially disgruntled by the downtime on the site, he was pleasantly surprised by the effort the team put in to make up for the lack of Saturday betting action.

“I’d heard all week about this new bookmaker Neds that were tipped to be the next big thing on betting,” the punter said.

“I was pretty annoyed because I had a few tips that weekend that I missed out on getting around. Lucky for me the majority of them didn’t run well, but it was still a frustrating thing.

“I contacted the team on Twitter, more to vent frustration than anything, and I was pretty shocked to get a response from the Twitter account along with a direct message offering a bonus bet for my account.”

This was not an isolated case, and Neds announced on Twitter that they will be contacting all their customers directly via email to address the situation.

The punter went on to say the simple gesture displayed to him that Neds is the real deal.

“Other bookies have kind of thrown me under the bus when I’ve experienced issues. Sometimes they’re like ‘oh, it’s a problem on your end so it’s not our responsibility’, but Neds owned up to the issues and delivered a bonus to me and a lot of other blokes when they really didn’t have to.

“It’s little gestures like that. It just shows you that your not just a number and that keeping the customers happy is a priority for them.

“It’s good to see early in the piece and it’ll keep me coming back, that’s for sure.”

I seriously doubt that this occurred – I’m still waiting for my “email” after contacting support on 3 separate occasions and being told I’d have a response in 48 hours. Eventually, I had to call because a $500 winning bet hadn’t been paid for over 48hrs and I barely got an apology. And the technical issues were literally the site being down for almost all of Saturday racing. Not sure how they’d even try and palm that off on the user, the whole thing is a debacle.

Also, their verification site doesn’t work – you have to call up to verify just to get cash out. It’s all completely horrible.
