The final month of the night racing season gets underway when Cranbourne hosts an eight-race card on Friday night. The Phillip Stokes-trained Fan Club may not get a better opportunity to break her maiden than with the field she meets on Friday. Apprentice Josh Richards hops on the back of the filly out of Pins for the first time, and his 3kg claim should see the pair to head to the front of the field from barrier nine and stay there. Fan Club will go around with just 54kg on her back and should prove too quick for this field.

Next Best: Ears The Barman
We will be hoping it is a race-to-race double for Phillip Stokes and Josh Richards when they team up with the resuming Ears The Barman in the opening leg of the quaddie. The half brother to Group 1 winner Who Shot Thebarman has an impressive record with two first-up wins from three runs, including at 1300m last time in. Resuming over the same distance at Cranbourne looks ideal, and from barrier five we expect Richards to have him in a handy position throughout before savaging the line late in the piece.

Best Value: Queen Adele
The Cindy Alderson-trained Queen Adele comes to Cranbourne after building an impressive record which includes a smart win at Mornington on April 13. Michael Walker opted in that run to take the filly out of Cox Plate winner Adelaide to the front of the field, where she fought hard to fall in by the barest of margins. The runner-up on that day has since run impressively, and with the pair putting a fair space on the field at Mornington, Queen Adele will take some running down on Friday night.
