What Cranbourne Races
Where Cranbourne Turf Club – 50 Grant St, Cranbourne VIC 3977
When Wednesday, June 23, 2021
First Race 12:10pm AEST

Cranbourne Turf Club is scheduled to host an eight-part card on Wednesday afternoon, with the track rated a Heavy 8 and the rail returning to the true position. HorseBetting’s Victorian horse racing form analyst presents his best bets and quaddie selections for the meeting, which is set to get underway at 12:10pm AEST.

Cranbourne Best Best: Twist Of Fury

David Brideoake and Jamie Kah will look to get Twist Of Fury back into the winner’s stall at Cranbourne. She was last seen in a strong three-year-old race down the Flemington straight behind the likes of Curran and All Of Brighton, so she should appreciate the significant drop in class on Wednesday. Seeing as the Written Tycoon filly has three wins from four runs on rain-affected surfaces, including a victory two starts back on May 19 at Ballarat on Heavy ground, we know she will appreciate the sting out of the ground. The blinkers go on for the first time and she has won third-up in the past, so Twist Of Fury is certainly one of the best bets on the Cranbourne card.

Best BetRace 5 – Twist Of Fury (#5) $2.25 with Sportsbet

Next Bet at Cranbourne: Lunares

Following three straight runner-up finishes, the Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra-trained Lunares will be out to break her maiden at her seventh start. The Akeed Mofeed filly was the best of the beaten brigade behind the smart Almsgiver at Swan Hill on June 13 and looks well placed on the quick backup. From barrier one, we expect Damien Thornton to have her settled in the first four and looking for the economical run just off the leaders’ heels. Lunares goes from 1600m to the 2025m for the first time in her career, which looks ideal as she does not necessarily possess a sharp turn of foot but looks like she will stay all day.

Next BestRace 3 – Lunares (#13) $2.20 with Sportsbet

Next Best Again: November Dreaming

Danny O’Brien sends November Dreaming to Cranbourne in a bid to break a run of outs which dates back to October last year. The four-year-old mare was last seen finishing midfield at Sandown on May 1, so she should appreciate the seven-week break between runs. With two of her three career wins coming on rain-affected ground, the conditions will be no issue. Jamie Kah hops back on board for just the second time and will look to settle midfield from barrier 12. If this daughter of Tavistock brings her best form, she will take some beating.

Next Best AgainRace 6 – November Dreaming (#3) $3 with Sportsbet
