First Race 12:25pm AEST

A bumper nine-race card is scheduled for Cranbourne on Sunday afternoon and Horsebetting.com.au’s Victorian horse racing form analyst presents his best bets, top odds and free quaddie selections. The track is rated a Good 4, with the rail returning to the true position the entire circuit for the meeting commencing at 12:25pm AEST.

Cranbourne Best Best: Cuban Link

The three-year-old filly Cuban Link may just be coming off a second-place finish on the Pakenham synthetic back on August 27, but she looks to be a nice filly moving further. The Greg Eurell-trained Testa Rossa filly looks to have a fair bit under the bonnet and with Craig Williams stick on board, she looks a clear best bet on the Cranbourne program. From barrier four, look for Willow to go forward on the filly and dictate terms throughout. In a field that looks to have next to no other known leaders, she should get a quiet time of it out in front. With the rail returning to the true position and being the fresh ground, the rail may be the place to be early on Sunday and we expect Cuban Link will be too hard to catch.

Best BetRace 2 – Cuban Link (#12) $3.00 with Sportsbet

Next Best at Cranbourne: Michante

We were with the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Michante at Pakenham on August 17 where she led for 1599m of the 1600m only to find one better on the line. Having won her first two career starts prior to that runner-up effort, the four-year-old Americain mare has a clear winning ability and looks perfectly placed to make it three wins from four starts at Cranbourne. She gets two of the best gear changes in horse racing, with the blinkers going on for the first time and Jye McNeil hopping on replacing a 4kg claiming apprentice. Having drawn barrier one, look for McNeil to roll forward on Michante and take control of the race. In a race that is bereft of early speed, she should be simply too hard to run down this time around at the mile.

Next BestRace 7 – Michante (#4) $3.60 with Sportsbet

Best Value Bet at Cranbourne: Cent To War

The Doug Harrison-trained Cent To War comes to Cranbourne for the first time looking to break his maiden tag at start six. His two best performances in his career thus far have come over 1200m, with two second place finishes to his name from three starts over the six furlongs. Despite drawing barrier 12 he has the early speed to overcome the tricky barrier draw and we expect Joe Bowditch to go forward on the four-year-old son of Warhorse. If he can settle outside the leader in the race, we anticipate Cent To War’s race fitness will be the difference and looks a perfect race for him to break through at a nice price.

Value BetRace 4 – Cent To War (#2) $16.00 with Sportsbet
