When Friday, May 28, 2021
First Race 5pm AEST

Cranbourne Turf Club is set to host a nine-race card on Friday from 5pm AEST as the night racing season comes to an end for another year. The meeting is set to be run on a track rated a Soft 6, with the rail out 9m for the entire circuit. HorseBetting.com.au brings you the best bets, top odds and free quaddie selections for the evening.

Best Bet: Fast ‘N’ Deep

We were keen on Fast ‘N’ Deep chances at Pakenham on May 20, but the Mark Sues-trained mare was scratched from that and ultimately saved for this on Friday night. She returns to the Cranbourne 1000m, where she was successful at her last start on April 30 after settling close to the speed. From barrier 10, she will need a little bit of luck early on, but if she can get to the rails, she is clearly the one to beat. Celine Gaudray’s 2kg claim gets Fast ‘N’ Deep in with just 57kg, and that should tip the scales in her favour.

Best BetRace 7 – Fast ‘N’ Deep (#4) $4 with Sportsbet

Next Best: Visualising

Greg Eurell and Jamie Mott team up with three-start maiden Visualising, who resumed over 1200m at Ballarat on May 9 when finishing second after hitting the lead 200m out from home. The three-year-old son of Dream Ahead steps up to the 1400m on Friday night for his second-up run and gets to a distance which looks to suit him perfectly. We expect Mott to use barrier one to his advantage and take the lead in a race that lacks early speed. If Visualising is afforded a quiet time of it out in front, he should be too good for this field.

Next BestRace 2 – Visualising (#8) $1.85 with Sportsbet

Best Value: Just Jake

Hanna Powell saddles up her four-year-old gelding Just Jake for his first-up run this campaign, and he gets a race that suits him to the tee. Despite only winning once in seven attempts at 1200m, it is his superior wet-track form that sets him apart from his rivals. From seven runs on wet going, he has two wins and three minor placings to his name. Expect Matthew Cartwright to have him close to the speed throughout from barrier seven, and with a first-up win next to his name already, we expect him to be hard to beat at a price.

Best ValueRace 5 – Just Jake (#4) $9.50 with Sportsbet
