Colac Racing Betting Preview – Feburary 14, 2021
Colac will host an eight race card on Sunday afternoon, with plenty of punters looking for a few winners on Valentine’s Day. The Colac Cup worth $70,000 is the featured event on the eight race card and with the track coming up a Good 4 we should see a cracking day of racing throughout. With the rail in the true position throughout there should be no excuses for fancied runners on Sunday.

Best Bet: Aurora’s Symphony
Symon Wilde and Joe Bowditch will look to make it two in a row for Aurora’s Symphony in the second leg of the Colac quaddie on Sunday. The gelding is on the quick nine day back up following an impressive win at Warrnambool after sitting outside the leader in the running. With speed drawn to the outside of the field, expect Bowditch to bide his time just off the leaders’ heels and use barrier one to his advantage throughout. His main rival will be his stable mate Paddy Mac, and will need to be at his best to run down the stablemate on Sunday. Aurora’s Symphony is yet to finish worse than third this campaign from four runs and that record should be improving with a win on Sunday.

Next Best: Clever Approach
Clever Approach comes to Colac chasing a third win in a row following impressive wins at Geelong then Ballarat in recent weeks.His win at Ballarat on February 7 suggests he should be winning this BM64 to open the Colac quaddie. He settled towards the rear of the field last Sunday and looked to have been a hard luck story with 100m to go, but once he saw clear daylight he was too strong. The seven day back up suggests he has pulled up a treat and with John Allen hoping on board for the first time the pair will be hard to hold out

Best Value: Rather Special
The Maher & Eustace trained Rather Special was sent around as a well supported runner on debut at Warrnambool on January 25, but was well held behind a handy one. In what looks to be a deep maiden here at Colac on Sunday, Rather Special will look to settle towards the rear of the field on the back of a hot tempo before unleashing a turn of foot that could be too strong for the field to hold out.
