A nine-race program has been assembled for Coffs Harbour on Friday afternoon from 11:20pm AEST. The track is rated a Heavy 8, while the rail is out 4m from the 1000m to the 350m before the cutaway applies and then it is true for the remainder of the course. HorseBetting.com.au brings you the best bets and a quaddie for the meeting on New South Wales’ north coast.
Best Bet: Sacred Zim
Three-year-old colt Sacred Zim was trialled nicely prior to his debut run, but he was no match for Mint Strip back in December. The son of I Am Invincible was then sent around as an odds-on favourite again at Ipswich and was able to justify his short quote. Trained by the Gold Coast father-and-son duo of Trent & Toby Edmonds, he looks ready to fire fresh after two winning trials, both of which came over the 1000m trip. He kicks off here over 1012m, and although drawn wide in barrier 12, he should be able to go forward, find the front and lead all of the way under Zac Lloyd’s 2kg claim.
Race 7 – Scared Zim (#3)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1369892_07]
Next Best: Enolaba Lass
This is almost a copy-and-paste job from above, but we assure you it isn’t. The Edmonds and Zac Lloyd combine again in the final race of the day with three-year-old Enolaba Lass, who looks a nice way to double any money we have left. The Snitzel filly has had two starts for a win and a second, with her debut runner-up effort coming at the hands of Goldschlager, who looks a nice one to follow when she returns to the track. Drawn out in barrier 11, the filly is likely to cross in pursuit of the lead and should be too strong at the 1315m first-up.
Race 9 – Enolaba Lass (#2)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1369892_09]
Best Value: Canyons
Three-year-old Canyons did enough on debut for us to want to play on Friday, and we are getting a nice price to find out. The Joanne Hardy-trained gelding ran third at Grafton, beaten just on three lengths. That run was on a Soft 7, so he should handle the Heavy 8 conditions on Friday if the track stays that way. The 1000m distance on debut left him a little bit flat-footed, but he ground away well enough to suggest that the step up to 1200m should be fruitful. He can be midfield with cover from barrier 11 and filling out the placings at a nice price.
Race 4 – Canyons (#1)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1369892_04]
