Canterbury Park plays host to seven twilight races on Friday night, with the first set to jump at 6:15pm. The track is rated a Good 4 and the rail is out +6m for the entire circumference of the course.

Best Bet – Race 6 #8 Super Effort

Chris Waller and Tommy Berry combine in the penultimate with Super Effort who is looking to win his second race. The Reward For Effort gelding comes off a second to Private Eye, which is shaping to be one of the best form races in the country. Private Eye, Count De Rupee, Tycoonist, Vrenli and Never Never River have all come out of the same race on January 2 and won their next start which is an incredible stat. Super Effort ran second in that race so there as some big pointers directed at him. Drawn the inside, he’ll muster up and should box seat here in a race that is his for the taking.

Best BetRace 6 – Super Effort (#8)$3.20 with Sportsbet

Next Best – Race 2 #2 Mount Fuji

James Harron Bloodstock paid seven figures for this Snitzel colt so you’d hope to see him deliver something on race day. Having his third career start, the three-year-old is looking to break his maiden in a race that lacks depth. He was only narrowly beaten by Dance six-weeks ago, but has been back to the trials since where he was a good winner which would’ve been a good confidence booster. James McDonald is likely to stalk the leader from barrier 6 and should put this field to bed comfortably.

Next BestRace 2 – Mount Fuji (#2)$2.15 with Sportsbet

Best Value – Race 4 #6 Jungle Book

Clare Cunningham will be hoping her consistent galloper can make it back-to-back wins here in this Benchmark 72 race over 1900m. Despite winning by only two-tenths of a length last start at Warwick Farm, he was dominant; finding little luck in the straight but still managed to bustle his way into the clear to win in a canter. Up to 1900m will suit him greatly here, given he has won three times over 2000m. From barrier 10 under Kerrin McEvoy, he’ll settle in the back half of the field but should be finishing home the better. At $14, he is a great each way play with Australia’s top online bookmakers.

Value BetRace 4 – Jungle Book (#6)$14 with Sportsbet
