Eight races are set to be run and won at Canterbury Park on Wednesday afternoon. The track is rated a Soft 5, and the rail is in the true position for the entire circumference of the course. HorseBetting.com.au’s form experts bring you their best betting tips and quaddie selections for the midweek metropolitan meeting in Sydney.
Best Bet: Lost And Running
John O’Shea and James McDonald combine for two good winning chances on Wednesday, with the best of those coming in the last race with the undefeated Lost And Running. The four-year-old gelding has had four starts and simply donkey licked his rivals, winning by a combined margin of 13 lengths. He is two from two this time in, having won a pair of nice midweek races, and now gets his chance to make it three. From barrier seven and with 59kg on his back, he will be sent forward and will have to be on his A-game to beat the flashy Mr Mosaic, who is in with 52kg, but we are confident the son of Per Incanto can be too good again.

Next Best: Fashchanel
The other big chance for John O’Shea and JMac is Fashchanel in the fourth. The four-year-old mare finished second in her first two runs this prep, including a 1.3-length defeat to Harmony Rose. She’s now a month between runs after she had a mishap and has since been back to the trials, where she went very well. With the freshen up, back to 1200m and drawn well in barrier four, she should be able to take up a forward spot and get into the winner’s circle for the first time in nearly 12 months.
Race 4 – Fashchanel (#5)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1365631_04]
Best Value: Travest
We thought Travest would be running in better races this Autumn Carnival, but he hasn’t won in six starts despite strong showings in all of them. The son of Tavistock steps out to 1550m for the first time in his eight-start career, which looks a good set up. The Gregory Hickman-trained four-year-old gets Rachel King aboard again, which should suit, and from barrier three the pair can settle a touch closer to the front this time with less speed engaged. He’s an each-way bet all day, every day.
