Seven races will be run and won when midweek metropolitan racing heads to Canterbury Park on Wednesday. At the time of writing, the track is rated a Soft 6 and the rail is set in the true position. HorseBetting.com.au brings you the best bets and top quaddie numbers for the meeting, which is set to jump at 12:50pm AEST.
Best Bet: Osamu
Annabel Neasham is on a high after taking out the Group 1 Doomben Cup with impressive import Zaaki, and we are hoping her luck can continue into Wednesday when she attempts to get Osamu in the winner’s circle in consecutive races. After finishing second on six occasions from 12 starts, the son of Exceed And Excel finally broke through at Newcastle last start in nice style. The gelding was allocated 63kg for this run, so the booking of Louise Day is suitable given she claims 2kg and rates horses well on speed. From barrier three, Osamu is the likely leader and can go all the way.
Race 4 – Osamu (#1)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1370302_04]
Next Best: Vigorous Flow
Peter & Paul Snowden saddle up their consistent galloper Vigorous Flow in the penultimate race. The three-year-old son of Headwater has won two races from seven starts, including a strong all-the-way effort at Gosford two starts ago. James McDonald is arguably the best jockey in Australia, so his booking is very positive, and with the addition of blinkers for the first time he is likely to switch off better than usual. He will be in the first few runners from barrier five as he tackles 1900m for the first time.
Race 6 – Vigorous Flow (#6)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1370302_06]
