Pickelhaube has won its last two starts for James Cummings in Melbourne and it has earned its right to come back to Sydney. The three-year-old scored as the odds-on favourite last start and he should go close again here.

Race 1 tip: Pickelhaube to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1250m)

Shumookh is an interesting runner for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. The three-year-old filly has had seven trials and has won five of them. We’re not sure why it’s taken so long to make it to race day, but the betting should indicate its chances.

Race 2 tip: Shumookh to win at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 3 – BM72 Handicap (1250m)

Onslaught resumes after a campaign which didn’t yield a win, but the Snowden-trained runner has plenty of ability. The four-year-old gets the inside draw and that will be a big help against this field.

Race 3 tip: Onslaught to win at Neds.com.au

Race 4 – BM70 Handicap (1200m)

Duchess Pedrille looked good when winning at Canterbury last start and it should go well again at its favourite track. She has hit top form this campaign and apprentice Brock Ryan takes some weight off her back for this.

Race 4 tip: Duchess Pedrille to win at Neds.com.au

Race 5 – BM71 Handicap (1550m)

Tivoli Street could be on its last life with punters, but we’ll line up for one more go. The Waller-trained runner hasn’t been at its best this time in, but midweek level is his go and he could turn the form around.

Race 5 tip: Tivoli Street to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 6 – BM70 Handicap (1100m)

Pedway was disappointing as a well-backed commodity last start, but this looks easier and the inside draw should give it every chance. The wide draw didn’t suit last time out and Tim Clark gets back in the saddle.

Race 6 tip: Pedway to win at Neds.com.au

Race 7 – BM79 Handicap (1900m)

Vaucluse Bay is a confidence-type runner and its second placing last start would have helped immensely. The Waller-trained stayer is starting to get back into form and it could pay nice odds in this.

Race 7 tip: Vaucluse Bay to win at Sportsbet.com.au
