Race 1 – Maiden Handicap (1400m)

Te Ata was only a length away from winning first-up at the Sunshine Coast on February 3 and with natural improvement it can go one better. It was a somewhat disappointing showing given it jumped as a red-hot favourite but we’re expecting a better showing.

Race 1 tip: Te Ata to win at William Hill

Race 2 – Benchmark 65 (1400m)

Godolphin runner Durif had the blinkers applied for the first time last-start at Newcastle and subsequently saluted by a huge margin, so maybe the penny has dropped. We feel this horse can be a ratings riser, but it needs to prove it first.

Race 2 tip: Durif to win at Neds

Race 3 – Canberra Cup Prelude (1600m)

Let It Roll was disappointing at Canterbury last timeout but it can find its way back into the winner’s circle here. Before that last-start sixth the horse had recorded back-to-back wins and before that two-straight second placings.

Race 3 tip: Let It Roll to win at Sportsbet

Race 4 – Maiden (1000m)

We’re backing a change of scenery to work wonders for Sedition. The horse has not raced since June of last year, but the talented son of Exceed And Excel fronted up for the first time for the Litt stable. Expect a different galloper to the one we’ve seen.

Race 4 tip: Sedition to win at Sportsbet

Race 5 – Open Plate (1000m)

While it’s true that Handle The Truth will have to step it up for this one, it did enough on debut to suggest it can. The son of Star Witness smashed the field on February 9 at Wagga, so we’re expecting big things from this two-year-old.

Race 5 tip: Handle The Truth to win ($5 at William Hill)

Race 6 – Benchmark 55 (2000m)

Rapture Miss has been in great form over its last four races, culminating in a strong maiden win at Goulburn two weeks ago. The horse had been knocking on the door of a win for awhile so it would surprise us to see it register a win straight out of the maiden grade.

Race 6 tip: Rapture Miss to win at William Hill

Race 7 – Open Handicap (1200m)

Super Star Bob loves the Canberra track and will be right in the mix here. The resuming horse also has a resuming win in the past, so it ticks multiple boxes. The good draw will also be a great help.

Race 7 tip: Super Star Bob to win at Crownbet

Race 8 – Benchmark 55 (1200m)

Annie Pru hammered the field last time out and we think it can gain some winning touch from that. This is a marked step-up in class but the horse should be able to hold the rail from gate one and give them something to catch from the front.

Race 8 tip: Annie Pru to win at Crownbet
