Glen Boss has been booked to ride Irish horse Riven Light in the Group One Caulfield Stakes.

Glen Boss will ride the Willie Mullins-trained Riven Light in the Group One Caulfield Stakes which will determine the rest of Irish horse’s Australian spring campaign.

Now based in Singapore, Boss has ridden 81 Group One winners in Australia including three Melbourne Cups on Makybe Diva.

“We’ve got Glen Boss to ride Riven Light,” Mullins told the Racing Post.

“We’ll see how the horse gets on next weekend before making any further plans for him in Australia over the coming month.”

Riven Light, who is owned by Rich and Susannah Ricci, was originally trained in France by Carlos Laffon-Parias and won two races there.

Since being transferred to Mullins, Riven Light has won four races including a maiden hurdle in December last year at his first start for his new trainer.

After another five starts over jumps, Riven Light was switched to the Flat and has won three of his past four starts including the Listed Listowel Stakes (1811m) on September 13.

Riven Light holds entries to the Caulfield Cup (2400m) on October 21 in which he has 50.5kg, and the weight-for-age Cox Plate a week later.

Boss will also ride Tom Melbourne in Saturday’s Toorak Handicap after the pair finished second to Happy Clapper in the Epsom Handicap at Randwick.
