Black Heart Bart wins Futurity Stakes
Black Heart Bart has claimed his fifth Group One win with a last-stride victory over stablemate Tosen Stardom in the Futurity Stakes at Caulfield.
The Darren Weir-trained Black Heart Bart was sent out the odds-on favourite in Saturday’s 1400m weight-for-age race and had to dig deep to get home by a nose over Japanese import Tosen Stardom, which was first-up from a spell, while Ecuador held on after racing on speed to finish another half-length away in third.
Black Heart Bart has won four Group One races this season and is unbeaten over 1400m at Caulfield from four attempts.
