Bendigo Horse Racing Betting Preview – 13th December 2020

A nine race card is set down for decision on Sunday afternoon where there looks to be plenty of competitive races right throughout the meeting. A beautiful summer’s day is forecasted and with the rail out 9m and a track rates a Good 4 we’re set fair for a cracking day of racing at “The Nursery Of Champions”

The first at Bendigo will face the starter at 12:55pm AEDT.

Best BetRace 7 – Toffee Doll (#7) $1.90 with Sportsbet

You would love to own the Matt Laurie trained four-year-old mate but she is already becoming a costly expense for punters to follow in. She is yet to finish worse than fourth in her four starts this campaign but is yet to break through for a victory in her four-year-old campaign. She retains the services of Luke Nolen and rates highly in this Class 1 over 1400m, and with a bit of luck from barrier eight early she looks to be the clear standout selection on the Bendigo card. You may get a better price on race day, but don’t be deterred by any drift that may come her way, she is more than capable of putting this field away.

Next BestRace 5 – Queen Guinevere (#5) $3.40 with Sportsbet

Shane Fliedner’s five-year-old mare has been racing what seems to be career best form over the recent months and has won two of her past three starts. Her last start effort at The Valley was one to forgive after making a meal of the start and then being held up for a run at a crucial point. She managed to find a way clear, but it was too little, too late but still managed to find herself within a length and a half of the eventual winner. Her two starts prior to that she put away a similar opposition to what she faces here, and from barrier two maps to conserve plenty of energy throughout the race and will prove hard to hold out with such a big straight at Bendigo.

Best ValueRace 8 – Regardsmaree (#9) $9.00 with Sportsbet

Nick Ryan and Rhys McLeod combine with this four-year-old gelding who resumes fresh off a near five month spell. He was ultra competitive in his winter campaign in races at both Caulfield and Flemington and greets a BM70 that is no harder than any of the fields he faced in his last campaign. From barrier seven, McLeod will look to settle him midfield with cover and if he is afforded a small slice of luck he should be too classy for this field if fit enough.
