Bendigo race betting preview – Tuesday, April 6

The ‘Nursery Of Champions’ sees an eight race scheduled for Bendigo on Tuesday afternoon. The track has come up a Good 4 for racing, and with the rail out 4m the entire circuit we should see the track play fairly throughout. When we raced here at Bendigo for Golden Mile day on March 27, winners came from everywhere and considering the rail is out 4m we should see something similar on Tuesday afternoon. Racing is set to get underway at 1:30pm AEST.

Best Bet: #11 Rose Quartz

The first starter from the Grahame Begg stable Rose Quartz comes to Bendigo for her debut run following an impressive trial victory over Group 1 winner Portland Sky. The win was the best of the day at Cranbourne on March 9 where she missed the start by a couple of lengths but under a strong hold from Luke Currie sprinted strongly along the rails and went straight past the rest of the field in an eye-catching win. You would expect all Rose Quartz needs to do on Tuesday is jump with them and she will be too quick for them over the 1100m against the other three-year-old fillies.

Next Best: #1 Redwood Shadow

On the back of a five month spell, the Mick Price-trained Redwood Shadow gets back to a race track following a campaign that saw him go within a half length of claiming the Group 3 Caulfield Classic, whilst also finishing 8 lengths off Personal in the VRC Derby. The step back to 1400m first up could prove to be a touch sharp, however having won at 1600m second up from a spell on September 30, it has shown he is more than just a stayer. His racing pattern tends to see him settle towards the rear of the field, but with a sharp turn of foot he should savage the line late and kick off his autumn campaign in style.

Best Value: Race 5 #1 Bluetooth @ $10.00

John & Chris Ledger saddle up the resurging seven-year-old mare Bluetooth who has strung together consecutive victories in impressive fashion as of late. Having led the respective fields up on both occasions the Shinzig mare managed to kick clear during the home straight to prove successful in similar fashion from one start to the next. From barrier four under Damian Lane we expect her to be able to find the front with relative ease and be too strong late for her rivals over the concluding stages of 1100m in the opening leg of the quaddie.

Best ValueRace 5 – Bluetooth (#1) $10.00 with Sportsbet
