The weekly Saturday meeting in Western Australia is set for Belmont, and HorseBetting.com.au’s tipping expert presents his best bets and quaddie picks with top odds from Australia’s leading bookmakers. The track is rated a Soft 7 with the rail out 6m the entire circuit for the meeting getting underway at 12:18pm AWST (2:18pm AEST).

Belmont Best Bet: Miss Vesari

The best bet on the Belmont card comes up in the second leg of the quaddie, where the Daniel Morton-trained Miss Vesari looks incredibly hard to beat over 1200m following a breathtaking win at this track and distance on July 21. The Rogano filly tends to get back in the running before rounding up her rivals up with ease with a long-sustained run. Her last-start win came on Heavy ground, and with similar conditions expected this weekend, Miss Vesari should dispose of her rivals with ease.

Best BetRace 7 – Miss Vesari (#7) $2.20 with Bet365

Next Best at Belmont: Zaratite

The Grant & Alana Williams-trained Zaratite is looking to break a streak of four straight runner-up performances. His last start was a case of being desperately unlucky, as he could not find clear air until there was 100m to go and was a moral beaten in the end. In a small field of five, he should not suffer that kind of misfortune. The gelding is on the quick seven-day backup, suggesting the stable are sending him round with some confidence, and the $4.40 quote is generous for a horse that has only missed the top two once in 11 career runs (11:4-6-0).

Next BestRace 1 – Zaratite (#3) $4.40 with Bet365

Best Value at Belmont: Miss Maranta

The Vaughn Sigley-trained Miss Maranta was a touch unlucky over this track and distance last time out on July 10. She has two wins and a minor placing from four starts at the Belmont 1400m, with her only fault coming at her last start when badly held up for a run until she was 200m out from home. The five-year-old mare has a strong turn of foot, and with even luck – and Kristy Bennett’s 2kg claim – there is no reason why she cannot take this race out at big odds.

Best ValueRace 9 – Miss Maranta (#2) $26 with Sportsbet
