Belmont Queen’s Birthday racing tips – Monday, 28 September 2020
It is the Queen’s Birthday public holiday in Western Australia, and we are treated to an eight-race card at Belmont to help eradicate the Monday blues.
After racing on a Soft 5 on Saturday, the track has come up a Good 4 for Monday’s meeting. The rail shifts out 3m from the 1200m mark to the 300m mark and remains true for the remainder of the circuit.
The first race is set to jump at 2:57pm AEST with the weather set fair.
Monday racing tips for Belmont
Chris Ganemi’s 5YO gelding was breathtaking on debut here a fortnight ago and looks capable of going on with it on Monday. He settled at the rear of the field, built momentum nicely when cornering and went on to score by over 2.5 lengths when producing the best last 400m of the meeting. Jordan Turner retains the ride and will most likely take the same backmarker position after drawing the widest in this field of nine. They will look to come over the top of them late in a bid to remain undefeated.

David Harrison’s 4YO gelding was able to break his maiden tag at start five 11 days ago at Northam. He looked to be full of running when charging clear over the last 100m, so the extra 200m here should not be an issue. At Northam he produced the best closing 400m of the meeting, and a similar turn of foot here will prove too much for this Class 3.

Michael Campbell and Lucy Warwick team up with this 4YO mare who scored impressively on debut here a fortnight ago. She raced quite greenly throughout and will only benefit from the run. From Barrier 11, Warwick may need to look for a spot midfield with cover and then peel out wide like she did last time to help build momentum.
