HorseBetting’s Western Australian form expert brings you his best bets and quaddie numbers for the nine-race card at Belmont on Saturday afternoon. The track is rated a Soft 5, while the rail returns to the true position having been out +8m last weekend. The first race on Belmont Guineas Day jumps at 11:53am local time (1:53pm AEST).
Belmont Guineas Tips: Tri For Us
We have settled on the Adam Durrant-trained Tri For Us in the 1600m feature. Having won three of her last five starts, we believe she has what it takes to knock the favourite off in the Belmont Guineas. She has been aimed towards the race, competing over the track and distance at both of her last two starts for a win and a runner-up effort. The favourite, Billy Ain’t Silly, will most likely lead this field up while our girl takes a seat just off the speed. When the opportunity arrives, we expect Tri For Us to put this field way in a couple of strides.

Belmont Best Bet: Amasenus
The Simon Miller-trained Amasenus has strung together four wins in a row, including a narrow victory over the 1000m at Belmont on June 5. She settled last in the running that day but produced a stellar turn of foot from the rear of the field to get up in the final stride. We expect a similar result this Saturday as the four-year-old Time For War mare rises to 1200m second-up from a spell. Chris Parnham retains the ride and only puts on 2kg from that last-start win. Considering this race is no harder than what Amasenus contested a fortnight ago, she looks to be the clear best bet on the card.

Next Best at Belmont: I’m Pretty
It would not be a Western Australian racing preview without a nod to William Pike, and his mount in the second race looks to be a more than capable type. I’m Pretty was an impressive winner over this track and distance on June 5 when running on strongly from the rear of the field. While the five-year-old mare has an average second-up record, she has plenty of ability on her side and stays at the 1400m trip. From barrier nine, expect Pikey to take her towards the rear of the field and let her build through the gears before savaging the line late.
