Beaudesert racing tips & best bets – Tuesday, 22 September 2020

Beaudesert Race Club

Queensland racing heads to Beaudesert on Tuesday afternoon for seven races, with the first set to jump at 1:25pm AEST. The track is rated a Good 4, with the rail in the true position for the entire circumference of the course. It is only a 210m straight, so horses need to be within striking distance on the turn to be in with any chance.

Tuesday racing tips for Beaudesert

Best BetRace 1 – Mondena Get the best odds

Toby and Trent Edmonds take just the one runner to Beaudesert on Tuesday for what looks to be an easy kill for their Sebring gelding, Mondena. The four-year-old has won just one from six starts, but he has placed second on two occasions and comes out of some good form races. Two starts back he finished just half a length off Willo Titto at Ipswich, who has subsequently won again, and at his last start he finished off very well over the 2200m at the Sunshine Coast when fifth in a Benchmark 60. Ben Thompson keeps the ride and is likely to settle towards the tail of the six-horse field from the outside barrier. Stepping up to 2450m will suit Mondena down to the ground, and the 0.5kg weight drop is also a huge advantage. We are hoping he drifts slightly so we get a half-decent price about him, but he should win this and getting punters off to a strong start.

Next BestRace 2 – Righteousness Get the best odds

We can be done nice and early tomorrow with our next best lining up in a seven-horse field in the second, where Greg Cornish’s Righteousness finds herself in a very winnable Class 3 over 1650m. The ex-New South Wales galloper comes off a second placing at the Gold Coast where she led most of the way before being run down late. We are hoping Brooke Ainsworth will roll forward from the outside alley and make every post a winner, as there is barely any speed engaged here. Dropping back in trip, Righteousness should have the fitness in her legs to stretch the field out and run them into the ground. There isn’t a third dividend here, but we are confident that you can back her each way and she won’t miss the top two.

Best ValueRace 4 – A’yun Get the best odds

Michael Nolan and Jackson Murphy combine with A’yun in a maiden with plenty of horses who will struggle to ever win a race. A’yun is the only three-year-old in the field and is having just her second career start, after a fifth at Toowoomba on debut. While there hasn’t been anything come out of that race and win yet, the way she worked home suggests she can win this as she goes down in weight and out in trip to 1400m. She was beaten a fair margin, but the winner and runner-up had the wood on their rivals and put nearly seven lengths on the rest of the field. She should benefit greatly from the race experience and can settle in the front half of the field from barrier five. This looks a much easier race for a horse that is no doubt on an upward spiral.
