Bathurst horse racing preview
Racing returns to Bathurst on Monday for a seven-part card that kicks off at 1:45pm AEDT. With the rail in the true position and the track rated a Good 4, we should see a great day’s racing. Here are some of the best bets on offer at Australia’s top online bookmakers.
Brad Widdup saddles up Showtime Lady in the last race of the day in what looks a winnable Benchmark 58 over 1200m. Having her first start as a three-year-old, the daughter of Showcasing went around in some decent two-year-old races behind the likes of Lady Banff and Marsannay. She had a trial a month ago at Hawkesbury, finishing a tenth of a length off Isaurian. First up should suit her here, and the dry track will be a plus. Blake Spriggs will rail through from the inside and land in a prominent spot, giving the filly every chance to make it win number two.

We highlighted Zoo Station when she made her debut at Dubbo as the best value of the day, and she ran terrifically into third at $21, so we are happy to stick with her. She just got buried away after being slightly slow into stride from the inside alley, but she hit the line quite nicely after losing momentum in the straight when the eventual winner took the same run she was hoping for. Kath Bell-Pitomac retains the ride, and the step up to 1100m should suit. From barrier three, the four-year-old mare will be in the first half a dozen – provided she jumps a touch better than she did on debut. She can go one or two spots better on Monday.
