Kings Will Dream has displaced Youngstar at the head of betting following the barrier draw for the Caulfield Cup.

The Darren Weir-trained stayer drew barrier six at Wednesday’s draw for the $5 million race on Saturday with bookmakers promoting Kings Will Dream to $5 favourite.

Youngstar was has since eased out to $5.50 after drawing barrier 10.

The Chris Waller-trained mare will jump from barrier nine if Jaameh, one of two emergencies, doesn’t gain a start.

There was mixed reaction from the international contenders with the Andrew Balding-trained Duretto drawing barrier one while Sole Impact, one of two Japanese contenders, drew widest in gate 20, but will start from barrier 18 in the capacity field.

Lloyd and Nick Williams also had mixed results with The Cliffsofmoher drawing nicely in barrier three.

The Cliffsofmoher is the third favourite at $6.50 with Homesman drawing outside him in four while The Taj Mahal, to be ridden by James McDonald, drew gate 19.
