Ballarat Turf Club is scheduled to host an eight-part card on Tuesday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s Victorian racing analyst presents his best bets, value tips and quaddie selections. Tuesday’s meeting is set to get underway at 1pm AEST on the club’s synthetic track.
Ballarat Best Bet: Madame Bolli
We save our best bet for the last race of the day, when the Jim Conlan-trained Madame Bolli steps out looking for her third win in succession. The three-year-old Written Tycoon filly broke her maiden two runs back at Sale, before backing it up with an all-the-way victory over this track and distance on June 15. With Josh Richards’ 2kg claim she stays at 60kg, and this race is no harder than what she beat at her last start. Having drawn barrier six, we expect Richards to look for the lead or settle one off the fence outside the leader. With race fitness on her side, Madame Bolli looks to be too quick for this BM58 field.

Next Best at Ballarat: Muswellbrook
Ben & JD Hayes saddle up the veteran that is Muswellbrook, who plummets in the weights following a last-start third over this track and distance. Having finished in the top three at each of his past three starts, the five-year-old Denman gelding will be looking to replicate his win at Geelong two starts back on June 6. Having gone down by 2.5 lengths in a harder race at Ballarat on June 25, the 4.5kg drop in weight will certainly help his chances on Tuesday. With Josh Richards hopping back on board, we expect Muswellbrook to be hard to beat in the opening leg of the quaddie.
Race 5 – Muswellbrook (#4)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1373662_05]
Ballarat Value Bet: All Price
Jerome Hunter will be hoping the performance of All Price at Mornington on June 14 in BM64 was nothing more than a blip on the radar when finishing 12th. Prior to that run, she had been beaten narrowly at Geelong first-up from a spell and then won impressively at that track second-up on May 18. The four-year-old Canford Cliffs mare comes back to the synthetic for the first time since June 2020, but if she brings the form of her first two runs, we expect her to give this race a shake. Celine Gaudray’s 2kg claim gets them in with 61kg, which will aid the cause in running on late and ultimately proving hard to hold out in the second leg of the quaddie.
