First Race 1pm AEST

The synthetic track at Ballarat is scheduled to host an eight-part card on Tuesday afternoon, and HorseBetting.com.au’s Victorian horse racing tipster has found a couple of best bets and a quaddie as well as odds from Australia’s best online bookmakers. The first race is set to jump at 1pm AEST.

Ballarat Best Bet: Secret Hero

Our best bet of the day comes up in the opener, where the Patrick Payne-trained Secret Hero looks perfectly placed to bring up a deserved maiden victory. The four-year-old son of Von Costa De Hero has begun his campaign with two runner-up performances over the 1200m on the Ballarat synthetic, but we anticipate Tuesday to be the day he breaks through for a win. Regular jockey Christine Puls sticks on board, which is a bonus, and from barrier three the duo should have no issue in finding the rails and dictating terms over 1200m.

Best BetRace 1 – Secret Hero (#4) $2.10 with Sportsbet

Next Best at Ballarat: Kissing Game

In the opening leg of the Ballarat quaddie, the Thomas Carberry-trained Kissing Game comes back to a track and distance he has tasted success at in his past two starts. It is hard to knock the way he won those races, getting back in the field and then storming home late, but on Tuesday he will need to do so with 62kg on his back, a 4kg rise from his last start win. We expect him to handle the weight in what looks to be a shallow BM58, and with Neil Farley sticking on board we don’t see why he cannot make it three wins in succession over the 1500m on the Ballarat synthetic.

Next BestRace 5 – Kissing Game (#3) $2.40 with Sportsbet

Ballarat Value Bet: Just Abbey

The Sue Naylor-trained Just Abbey has taken a liking to the Ballarat synthetic in her career, and having not finished worse than third in three starts over the 1000m this campaign, she presents decent value in the final leg of the quaddie. The three-year-old Kuroshio filly was a dominant maiden winner three runs back and has backed it up with consecutive minor placings, including chasing home the smart Madame Bolli. Jack Hill retains the ride on Tuesday, and the pair should have no qualms in settling towards the rear of the field, building momentum and hopefully proving too hard to hold out in the concluding stages.

Best ValueRace 8 – Just Abbey (#8) $8.50 with Sportsbet
