Ballarat Turf Club is scheduled to host an eight-race card on Sunday afternoon and Horsebetting.com.au’s Victorian horse racing form analyst presents his best bets quaddie selections and top odds from Australia’s best online bookmakers. The meeting is set to be held on a Heavy 9 with the rail in the true position, as the first race jumps at 12:30pm AEST.
Ballarat Best Bet: Irish Rockstar
Our best bet on the Ballarat card comes up in the third leg of the quaddie when the Lindsey Smith-trained Irish Rockstar looks to build of his dominant last start win at Warrnambool on June 17. His win came on a Heavy 9 where he dictated terms throughout and managed to kick clear on the home turn to go on to win by seven lengths. He was competing in harder races prior to that win, so connections will be hoping it was a confidence boosting win that he needed. With Josh Richards sticking on board with his 2kg claim, we expect the pair to go forward from barrier nine, dictate terms and prove too hard to run down once more.

Next Best at Ballarat: Media Empire
The Mick Price-trained two-year-old colt Media Empire comes to Ballarat following a runner-up performance at Echuca on June 26. Despite being beaten by 1.25 lengths after leading the field up on that day, he did manage to put close to four lengths on his nearest rival back in third. From barrier 16, Billy Egan will have no choice but to take the Winning Rupert colt to the front of the field, but he does have the early pace to overcome the tricky barrier draw. He showed last time out that he can handle rain-affected going and with even luck in the early stages of this race we expect him to be too hard to catch over 1200m.

Ballarat Value Bet: Worth Bottling
The Logan McGill-trained Worth Bottling was an impressive winner one the eye on debut at Moe on June 24 and if she brings a similar effort on Sunday, she could prove too hard to hold out. Despite giving Velicina a four-length start with 100m to go at Moe, the three-year-old filly flashed home to claim victory in soft fashion in the end. With race favourite Stripped Back first up from a spell, the Heavy ground could find him vulnerable, so with a touch of race fitness on her side and a win on Heavy 8 at Moe, Worth Bottling presents some great value in the second leg of the quaddie.
