Best Bet: Who Runs The World

The Tony McEvoy-trained Who Runs The World comes to Victoria for the first time since her juvenile season and looks well placed to break her maiden at start 11. She was sent around as a short-priced favourite at Strathalbyn on April 18 but was no match for a dominant winner and faded to finish fourth. From barrier seven under Luke Currie, we expect the Zoustar filly to settle one pair back from the speed. In a race that does not look to be that deep, she should be too good for this field and break through for a much-deserved win.

Best BetRace 2 – Who Runs The World (#11) $2.40 with Sportsbet

Next Best: Corner Pocket

The Lindsey Smith-trained Corner Pocket returns from a five-month spell and looks a strong winning chance given his record to date. The Toronado gelding has two wins from four career starts and is yet to miss the top three. He tends to race up on speed, and from barrier two he should have no issue in settling in the first four. With a little bit of luck in the home straight, he should be making it three wins from three starts at the 1200m.

Next BestRace 4 – Corner Pocket (#8) $3.60 with Sportsbet

Best Value: Don’t Doubt Nic

Grahame Begg saddles up the last-start maiden winner Don’t Doubt Nic, who will look to bring up consecutive victories in this Class 1 event. The Nicconi gelding settled on the rails under the leader in that run at Bendigo and was strong enough through the line to suggest he will be hard to hold out here on Wednesday. From barrier nine, Daniel Stackhouse will need a little bit of luck early on to find some cover, or he may opt to settle outside the leader. Don’t Doubt Nic looks to be a tactically versatile galloper and looks to be well placed to continue his winning form.

Best ValueRace 5 – Don’t Doubt Nic (#1) $7.50 with Sportsbet
