Almost 200 Blue Diamond second acceptors
Lindsay Park’s unbeaten fillies Catchy, Tulip and Formality feature among the 198 second acceptors for next month’s $1.5 million Blue Diamond Stakes.
Godolphin has paid up for 25 two-year-olds in Victoria’s premier juvenile race, one more than the Lindsay Park stable of trainers David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig.
David Hayes holds the Blue Diamond training record with five wins and appears to have a strong chance to add to that next month with Catchy, Tulip and Formality high up in the markets.
Mick Price, who trained the Blue Diamond quinella last year with Extreme Choice and Flying Artie, has 19 horses among the second acceptors.
The Blue Diamond series gets underway with the running for the Previews at Caulfield on January 26 before the Preludes on February 11.
The Group One Blue Diamond (1200m) is on February 25.
Horses not nominated can still be paid up as late entries by February 20 for a fee of $55,000.
