Alligator Blood wins Group 1 Australian Guineas
Alligator Blood and Ryan Maloney have stormed to their first Group One win in the $1 million Australian Guineas at Flemington.
The David Vandyke-trained gelding gave no quarter to his opposition in the straight to beat Superstorm by a length, with Soul Patch third in the 1600m race.
Maloney and the Sunshine Coast horse can tick the Group One box after coming agonisingly close in the Caulfield Guineas last spring when chased down by Super Seth.
