Race 1 – Maiden Plate (1400m)
Casino Rose has been freshened up following a second placed finish on January 14. The horse has finished second twice in three career runs and appears well placed to breakthrough in the opener.
Race 1 tip: Casino Rose to win at Neds
Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1000m)
After only missing out by a length on March 4, Campo is a strong hope of backing that debut up in winning fashion. We think that bodes well for a strong run.
Race 2 tip: Campo to win at William Hill
Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1100m)
Golden Key has placed second in back-to-back events leading into this one, which reads well heading into the third. The three-year-old gelding went down as a short-priced favourite at Bendigo, but it will learn from that experience and should be able to improve enough to take this one out.
Race 3 tip: Golden Key to win at Sportsbet
Race 4 – Benchmark 70 (1600m)
The hot streak of Lord Smedley should continue on Tuesday. The horse only missed out by a nose last time out at Benalla at this grading, but before that it had recorded a strong BM64 level at a decent price. We think it can get back into the winner’s circle.
Race 4 tip: Lord Smedley to win at Sportsbet
Race 5 – Benchmark 64 (1200m)
A second-up win in the past boosts our confidence that Distant Sky can back up its successful resuming run in style. The five-year-old won by just shy of two lengths on March 12 and while this is a small jump in grading, the horse drops slightly in weight.
Race 5 tip: Distant Sky to win at William Hill
Race 6 – Class 1 Handicap (1100m)
Cherief’s Choice returned in decent fashion on March 11, finishing second as a short-priced favourite. The horse should improve with racing fitness and we believe it can break through its first win since August of 2017.
Race 6 tip: Cherief’s Choice to win at Neds
Race 7 – Benchmark 58 (2000m)
The good form of Arthurian should hold it in good stead going into this one. In fourth of its last five runs the horse has a win three placings. The horse drops back in grade and will be hard to beat.
Race 7 tip: Arthurian to win at Crownbet
Race 8 – Benchmark 64 (1400m)
A winning debut for Honorable Mention at Ballarat helps us think it can go on with the job here. The horse won by just under a length and a half on March 7, and despite the wide draw it has the ability to progress through the grades quickly.
Race 8 tip: Honorable Mention to win ($5 at Neds)
