Winter Championship Final betting tips
Nick Ryan has big plans for his import Dice Roll with a tilt at the Cox Plate firmly on the agenda, and on Saturday a win in the Winter Championship Final looks all but a certainty. Having strung together a hat-trick of wins since arriving on these shores, the six-year-old gelding seemingly gets better with each run. He was a smart winner last time out over the Flemington 420m when beating home the Rubisaki, and considering he only goes up 1kg off that last run, he looks incredibly hard to beat. Fred Kersley sticks on board, and we expect the duo to round out Dice Roll’s winter campaign with another win.

Victorian Sprint Series Final betting tips
The John Price-trained William Thomas returns to the Flemington straight in the Victorian Sprint Series Final having finished third over the 1100m at Flemington on June 19. Despite still being a maiden at the track, he should appreciate the genuine tempo considering he does his best work when settling in the second half of the field and making up ground out wide. With regular jockey Michael Dee hopping back on board, William Thomas should be hard to beat at a nice each-way quote.

Flemington Best Bet: Grand Promenade
Ciaron Maher & David Eustace have a run in the Melbourne Cup planned for their promising stayer Grand Promenade, but a win in the Banjo Patterson Final on Saturday is first and foremost. He has shown in several runs this campaign that he can be tactically versatile, but from barrier two we expect Jamie Kah to take a sit off the speed set by her rivals and look for the one-one. In his past three runs only Realm Of Flowers has beaten him – in the Andrew Ramsden Stakes on May 15 – and all he needs to do is bring the form that has seen him win two of his past three.

Next Best at Flemington: Star Of Uma
Tony McEvoy sends his three-year-old filly Star Of Uma to Flemington on the back of a dominant win at Morphettville on June 5. She returns from a four-week break between runs and should appreciate the 1400m, where she has two starts for a minor placing and her last-start win. Despite drawing barrier 12, she is a natural front-running filly and we expect Mark Zahra to take the lead, dictate terms and let her kick clear over the final 300m to bring up a win at her first go around Flemington.
Race 5 – Star Of Uma (#2)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1373444_05]
Best Value at Flemington: Messignadi
In the Listed Taj Rossi Final for two-year-olds, the undefeated Messignadi presents wonderful value at $21. Following a smart win on debut at Mildura, the Austy Coffey’s filly backed it up with an impressive win at Sandown on June 16 when letting down nicely over the final 200m. She looks like she will appreciate the step up to 1600m having hit the line nicely over 1300m at Sandown, and at a nice each-way price she looks the best play in the Taj Rossi.
