Best Bet: #5 Excelleration
The Richard Cully-trained Excelleration simply did not have his mind on the job at Sandown on April 5, so we are willing to forgive that run and follow him back in again. His get-back and run-on style of racing requires the race to be run to his liking. It looks to be a race that will be run at a genuine speed and give backmarkers like Excelleration a chance to finish over the top of the leaders. The in-form John Allen hops on board, and as long as he does not get strung up in traffic he should be savaging the line late and be too strong.

Next Best: #6 Dallas Cowgirl
With market rivals Poet Warrior and Bellicosity racing on Friday afternoon, Dallas Cowgirl strikes a maiden that is hers for the taking. Brent Stanley’s three-year-old filly finished the race off strongly at Echuca on April 19 when settling in the second half of the field. In what is set to be her first second-up run in her career, the Hinchinbrook filly will look to settle midfield with cover after drawing wide. With the long straight at Bendigo, Joe Bowditch will have plenty of time to get her through the gears and she should be far too good for this maiden field that lacks depth post scratchings.
Race 3 – Dallas Cowboy (#6)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1368264_03]
Best Value: #14 Pitchanun
Danny O’Brien opted to have a throw at the stumps with Pitchanun in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes in Morphettville at her last start. She was held up in the running and finished worse than midfield in one to forget. The Savabeel filly drops back to BM64 grade and it looks perfectly set up for her to jump and take a sit off the leaders in the one-one. If Damian Lane can get her cover early on, then the $7.50 on offer looks to be a steal dropping back from a strong Group 3 event.
