Best Bet: #11 She’s Stylish
The Jon O’Connor-trained She’s Stylish was a smart runner up at this track on April 5, when letting down nicely from the back of the field to just miss. The filly out of Good Journey requires a genuine tempo to be set in her races as she opts to settle in the second of the field and make a long sustained run from the 600m. If she gets that bit of luck she is after, then there is no doubt that she will be fighting out the finish. Karl Zechner retains the ride and has been on the back of She’s Stylish in all three of her starts, and connections will be hoping it is fourth time lucky.
Race 2 – She’s Stylish (#11)Next Best: #8 Mr Pocket
Mr Pocket from the Travis Doudle stable was left a little flat footed at his last start over the 2100m here on April 5, but looks well placed dropping back to 1700m. It is hard not to like the way Mr Pocket goes about it as he tends to settle in the first half a dozen in the running and after drawing barrier 15 on Sunday it should be no different in this event. On the back of a genuinely run 1700m we expect him to appreciate the tempo and be too hard to catch, as he showed when breaking his maiden here at Gawler just four runs back.
Race 4 – Mr Pocket (#8)Best Value: #4 Beerz With Clint
He has won just once from 24 starts, but the Karen Letts-Maund-trained Beerz With Clint simply does not know how to run a bad race. He will get the blinkers popped back on for his 25th start and if he runs to his second placed finish at Oakbank two runs back, then he is in this right up to his neck. He will settle in the second half of the field, and if the race is run to suit him, he is capable of sustaining a long run and finishing right over the top of this field.
