Warwick Farm horse racing preview – March 3, 2021
Warwick Farm in Sydney’s west will host eight metropolitan races on Wednesday afternoon. The rail is in the true position for the entire course, the track is rated a Soft 5, and the first race of the day is scheduled to jump at 1:45pm local time. Here are our best bets for a card that appears to offer plenty of value.
Best Bet: Snitzify
Peter & Paul Snowden saddle up Snitzify, a gelding who is enjoying a purple patch of form of late. The four-year-old son of Snitzel won at Wyong three starts back, then ran second to a smart one in Flexible before going one better and beating home Julian Rock in an all-the-way effort at the Kensington track last time out. He will be handy to the speed under the in-form Hugh Bowman from barrier nine and should take a power of beating again at a very juicy price.
Race 8 – Snitzify (#3)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1362712_08]
Next Best: Much Much Better
Much Much Better got the job done first up this campaign at Newcastle, where he sat outside the leader before moving away from the pack to win by half a length. He should get a similar run in transit again on Wednesday, coming over from barrier 10 to be in the first three or four in the run for Regan Bayliss. He does rise half a kilogram to 59.5kg, but he won with 60kg by two lengths at Canberra at the back end of last campaign. This is for three straight wins, and we expect him to do it. These odds are too good to ignore.
Race 3 – Much Much Better (#3)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1362712_03]
Best Value: Mr Mozart
Two-year-old first starters are not typically our go-to, but we cannot ignore the Hawkes-trained colt Mr Mozart. Drawn out in barrier 12 under Tommy Berry, he will settle in the first half of the field and look to produce a similar effort to his latest trial win at Canterbury. Bred well by Snitzel out of a mare who we had plenty of time for in Euro Angel, the flashy chestnut opened at a very backable price and could drift towards double digits. We are keen to play.
Race 2 – Mr Mozart (#5)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1362712_02]
