2021 Reisling Stakes betting preview
The fillies do battle in the Group 2 Reisling Stakes over 1200m at Royal Randwick this weekend. Swift Witness is the $4.40 favourite in what is quite an open race. The speed is likely to come from Sliders and Pretty Woman, while Glistening and Joyous Legend have also shown some toe.
Pretty Woman (#5) has been dominant in her two career starts over 1000m at Canberra, leading most of the way in both. The Written Tycoon filly has done it all within herself to date, so the rise to 1200m should be achievable. Alysha Collett knows her well and has been given the nod to stay aboard, which is an advantage. From gate four, she will find the front and be too good.
Godolphin filly Vianello (#3) hit the line better than anything outside of Stay Inside last time out, and that horse is a genuine winning chance in the Todman Stakes. The step out to 1200m looks the logical next step for the daughter of Teofilo, as she will surely get better the further she gets. Drawn on the inside under Rachel King, she will settle in the first half of the field before flashing home over the top. She is a good each-way bet.
Swift Witness (#1) was our on top pick in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic but was very disappointing, finishing 10th. Her start prior in the Aquis Pearl was brilliant when beating subsequent Brisbane city winner Glorious Ruby. She has been back to the trials since with some strong results, but we do seriously question the form of the Magic Millions.
