2020 Gimcrack Stakes Horse Betting Preview & Tips
The Gimcrack Stakes is the first of the featured races at Randwick on Saturday, which sees a field of 2YO fillies step out for the first time under race conditions. The Gimcrack is a Group 3 raced over 1000 metres and is the start of a run to the Golden Slipper for all connections involved.
The Gimcrack Stakes for 2020 is race 2 on the Randwick Epsom Handicap Day race card and is set to jump at 1:00pm.
The Maher & Eustace stable look to have a smart two year old filly on their hands in Enthaar, who is by Written Tycoon out of Final Agreement. She was the talk of the official two year old trials on the Kensington track on the 21st of September, when absolutely bolting in under a steady hold. Every punter is seemingly on her in the Gimcrack for good reason. She ran her 850 metre trial in a flat 50 seconds, with the final 600 metres clocking in at 33.74. She is currently the Golden Slipper favourite based on that one trial, and if she brings that to raceday she will only get shorter in the Slipper market
This I Am Invincible x In Style filly had her own way up in front during Heat 7 at Kensington back on the 21st of September in the official two year old trials. It’s the Waterhouse & Bott way to have on-pace runners and this filly looks no different. She gave a nice kick over the last 200 metres to go clear and came home in an above average time of 33.89 for the last 600 metres. In a race full of unknown’s she may be one to follow coming out of the Gimcrack Stakes.
The stablemate to Total Babe maps to be up on speed with her, and if she can be afforded an easier run than what she was given during her trial on the 21st of September; she looks right up to the standard here in the Gimcrack Stakes. Despite being three wide the trip, Miss Hoff was beaten under half a length to fellow stablemate Vaccine. At a nice each way price, the first foal by first season sire Flying Artie looks one to throw into wider exotics here, and one to watch for the future.
