Best Bet
Race 5 – Maisaa @ $3.40

Peter and Paul Snowden’s filly just missed last start at Newcastle when second behind the well-backed Peace Of Mind. She finds a fairly similar race here, staying in the same Fillies & Mares BM64 and rising in trip just the 50m to 1350m. From barrier one, Mitch Bell will get a soft run behind the speed and hope to ease off heels on the bend. Maisaa has placed seven times for just the one win from 12 starts but looks ready to win again after two nice seconds. The Zoffany filly has had three goes around Wyong for two placings, which will prove beneficial. She should get every chance here and be too good for these.

Next Best
Race 3 – Crown Affair @ $4.60 Neds

We tipped Crown Affair a fortnight ago at Randwick when he let us down finishing ninth of 10. Put a line through that run, however, as it was a very heavy track in a race that wasn’t run to suit. He gets back to Wyong, where two starts back he won by a little more than 7.5 lengths over the same distance he gets here. Rory Hutchings hops back on and should roll forward from barrier three in an attempt to replicate that win three weeks ago. This is a massive drop in grade from a Saturday 3YO BM74 to a Class 1 Maiden at Wyong on a Thursday. At around $4.60, he looks a great bet.

Best Value
Race 6 – Live The Moment @ $8.50 Sportsbet

Live The Moment looks ready to fire third up into his preparation. First up this campaign, the Pierro gelding clocked the quickest last 600m of the day over 1200m at Warwick Farm before getting held up in the straight last start at Newcastle. The form out of the first-up run has been solid with three subsequent winners coming out of it. There looks to be a stack of speed on, so Cejay Graham should settle towards the rear out of gate nine, get to the middle of the track and finish strongly. He stays in the same class but will be carrying 2.5kg less with Graham’s claim. At upwards of $8, we are keen to bet each way.
