Boom Chicka Boom’s preference for inside barriers has been shown with a clear-cut Eagle Farm win. <\/i>\n<\/div>\n

Flying gelding Boom Chicka Boom again proved good barriers are the key to his chances with his impressive win at Eagle Farm.<\/p>\n

Boom Chicka Boom ($5) made it five wins when starting from from barrier one when he led all of the way to win the Mullins Lawyers Open (1000m).<\/p>\n

Stable foreman Les Kelly junior said Boom Chicka Boom was always hard to beat when he drew an inside barrier.<\/p>\n

“It means he can lead without too much effort and then he is hard to run down,” Kelly said.<\/p>\n

“There is a 900m race at the Gold Coast in three weeks and he will have a mortgage in that.<\/p>\n

“But of course he will need to draw a good barrier.”<\/p>\n

Boom Chicka Boom is bred and raced by former top equestrian Peter McMahon and his wife Michelle.<\/p>\n

The gelding is a half-brother to Real Surreal who won the 2013 Magic Millons 2YO Classic for the McMahons.<\/p>\n

Kelly said while Boom Chicka Boom wasn’t up to that standard he might win a short-course feature race in the winter.<\/p>\n

Tycoon Ace ($6) did a good job to run second beaten a short neck.<\/p>\n

“He tried hard but the winner just had too big a break on us,” apprentice Aiden Thompson said.<\/p>\n

Classy three-year-old The Sinner ($6.50) has some big assignments ahead after his comeback win in the Trump Flooring Handicap (1000m).<\/p>\n

The Sinner wasn’t far off some top horses in his previous campaign and he lived up to that form with a strong win.<\/p>\n

Trainer Natalie McCall said The Sinner would now tackle the $300,000 Three-Year-Old The Jewel at the Gold Coast on March 14.<\/p>\n

“We’ll keep him on the fresh side because the Coast race is 1200m and his best is probably at 1400m,” McCall said.<\/p>\n

“Then he can head to Rockhampton for a big prize money three-year-old the Capricornia Championship in early April.”<\/p>\n
