Victorian jockey Tom Sadler has had a mixed introduction to NSW racing with a winner and a suspension at the weekend.

Sadler has joined the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable and rode Social Element for Tulloch Lodge to win a maiden at Newcastle on Saturday.

A day later he was outed for careless riding on the Johnnie Roberts-trained Road To Royalty at Wyong.

He pleaded guilty to allowing his mount to shift in near the 1000m of a 1600m-race when not clear of another horse.

Sadler will be out from September 3 and can return to riding two weeks later.
